Joanne Morrison: Joanne Morrison is a Washington, DC-area artist who has been painting for more than 30 years. Joanne resides in Silver Spring and has participated in a number of local shows. In addition, her work is displayed across the country including Montana, California, Ohio and New York. She works in a variety of subjects including still life and landscapes. In her work, she finds beauty in very ordinary and sometimes whimsical subjects such as sushi, popsicles and even cow portraits. She paints in a range of mediums including acrylic and oil, and the majority of her pieces are large format. Joanne’s works are stylized, focusing on a rhythm and texture. All of her paintings are very bright, with a poster-like quality.
